Project Overview

Dalia Phase 2 is an extension to one of Total's flagship deepwater Angolan assets. Grispen, working with SAIPEM, delivered both installation aids engineering and seafastening design for the project's umbilical termination assemblies, hardware that connects subsea control umbilicals to their host structures.

The Engineering Challenge

Umbilical termination assemblies require engineering across two distinct phases: marine transport from fabrication yard to installation vessel (seafastening), and the subsea installation operation itself (installation aids). Each phase has different governing load cases and structural interface requirements, but both must be coordinated against the same underlying structure design.
